Production Specialist - Soap Maker
Location - Portland, Oregon
Compensation - starting from $18 to $25/hour + benefits
Hours - full-time 32 to 40 hours/week
Dark Matter Factory is moving the production of our BLACKBIRD line of products to Portland. We are looking to hire an experienced saponified soapmaker to reintroduce our BLACKBIRD handmade soaps to market. This person would start with the original BLACKBIRD soap recipes and make adjustments to modernize the formulas and processes. This person would also work as part of the BLACKBIRD production team, helping to manufacture perfumes, incense, and candles.
EXPERIENCE
3+ years experience handmaking saponified soaps
commercial product manufacturing
leadership/management
SKILLS
basic mathematics, algebra, and formulas
scientific methods of problem-solving
organized - documentation, space planning, process flow
detail-oriented
excellent fine motor skills
understanding of the luxury product industry
able to work collaboratively and autonomously
